"Educational Innovations and Trends in Dentistry Education" explores advanced strategies and digital tools to enhance teaching in dental education. Divided into three sessions—Interactive Lecturing, Effective Seminar Design, and Assessment in Academic Settings—the course equips educators with contemporary professional skills for effective pedagogy in higher education. The first session utilizes technology and employs digital tools like Sway to create engaging lectures that foster the development of general and specific competencies among students, aiming to make lectures dynamic and interactive, which enhances student engagement and understanding. The second session emphasizes seminar facilitation with a focus on competency-based education and the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), enhancing educators' ability to lead interactive and effective seminars. In the Assessment section, participants explore best practices from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Plovdiv. The course also covers the integration of digital tools and AI to enhance assessment efficiency and fairness. The course is structured into four weekly modules, each containing multiple navigable steps using directional arrows. Each step provides clear instructions and encourages active engagement. Activities involve reading articles, participating in reflective exercises, and contributing to discussions, fostering a rich learning experience through interaction with peers' posts. By the end of the course, educators acquire practical skills and knowledge to innovate in dental education, effectively employing modern teaching strategies and technologies to improve learning outcomes for students.
